Why would you want to spring clean your mind? Well, are you finding yourself exhausted, tired, or fed up? Are you constantly on edge and fearing the worst?
Maybe you’ve just found yourself playing small and are in a really boring and repetitive work situation? If any of this is the case then you have got to spring clean your mind. It's going to be absolutely crazy for you to continue living like this.
So why do we find ourselves in such disempowered states of being?
I'm a transformational coach who specializes in enabling committed entrepreneurs and leaders to cause breakthrough results and live ‘the dream’. I now have over 200 clients reporting that their lives have completely transformed from simply attending a few coaching conversations with me, and I've seen people go from being in really difficult positions to succeeding in extraordinary ways.
So what is it that my successful clients actually did? Fundamentally they did exactly this: they spring cleaned their minds. Firstly work out what it is that you are surviving? What is predominantly your greatest fear that’s holding you back from moving forwards? Because if you keep doing what you're doing (letting your fears hold you back) you will always be facing the same unfulfilling situations, rather than 'creating' a future that inspires you.
Fundamentally you've got to shift what you're thinking about; you need to shift your thoughts from those of fear (survival) to those of 'creation'. In turn this will elevate you to access effective behaviour and enable you to take new actions. This begins with firstly recognizing what thoughts your having that are holding you back.
If you’d love to know how to spring clean your mind then do this now: get out some writing paper and a pen or get your diary and open an old blank page. Right at the top of this page begin writing, “I fear that if I start . . . that what will happen is . . .” Then fill in the gaps. For instance, “I fear that if I go and choose a new career or start a new business venture that I’ll fail and let my partner down.” Then keep going. “I fear that if I start . . . that what will happen is . . .” keep writing and writing whatever comes up for you and don't stop until you completely run out of things to write.
Notice so much noise there is in your head? Notice how much extra weight there is on your mind which is all simply a perception of the way the world occurs for you but has little to do with reality? If you read back over what you’ve written and enquire as to where it all comes from, you'll see that you created this from interpretations of past events and you simply fear repeating similar events and feeling similar feelings again. If you really do this effectively you will see that it’s all just ‘noise’.
Once you've written all this down, sit and read back over it again. Let it land that that it's all just useless noise!! Choose for all this to longer own your actions. The more clearly you see the ridiculousness of it all the lighter you will begin to feel.
If you are still feeling like heavy thoughts of fear are running you, find a coach or somebody who's skilled at coaching that you can speak to and relay all your fears to them about moving forwards in the direction that you know you truly dream of. Above all, if this exercise didn’t work for you, simply get in conversation about it with some one you trust. Doing so is the most powerful thing you can do to begin shifting the way you feel.
If you have a friend or someone who's in a difficult position, a bit bored or not empowered then please share this video with them. It may even be the thing that causes them to break out of what they are dealing with and make them feel like you're thinking of them.
Whatever you do remember; dare to dream the dream, dare to choose the dream, dare to live the dream.
